The company’s heritage reaches back to the late 1960s, when Manzie Grantham Porter entered Jamaica’s customs brokerage industry alongside his brother, Hendricks Porter. Porter Brothers was formally established in 1971 and developed into a recognised name in customs brokerage. Following Hendricks Porter’s passing, Manzie G. Porter & Associates Ltd. was formed with Claudette Leair-Samuels and Kenneth Porter, continuing the family’s tradition of service while expanding its capabilities in customs brokerage, international trade and logistics.

The late Manzie Porter was widely respected as a veteran customs broker and logistician. He served as president of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association of Jamaica from 1988 to 1991 and was recognised for his contribution to the development of the industry.
